YouthSpace
YouthSpace is a safe drop-in space for gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans-identified, queer, questioning and straight-allied youth under 25 in Edmonton, Alberta. This program offers a chance for youth to interact, make new friends, pursue leadership opportunities, access a variety of resources, and information or just hang out in a safe and accepting space. The space includes computer terminals, TV, video games, coffee bar, and a variety of other activities.
Outreach
The Pride Centre of Edmonton offers a wide range of programming, including groups and programs held at the Centre as well as outreach programs such as public education and workshops for the broader community.
YouthSpace is open:
Tuesday – Friday 3 pm – 7 pm
Saturday 2 pm – 6:30 pm
Umbrella Group
6:30 – 8:30 pm on the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month
A group dedicated to youth between the ages of 13-25 and an adult-free zone. Parents, guardians, and social workers are welcome to come, however, once the meeting starts, they will be asked to be in a separate room out of respect and safety for all youth attending. Umbrella Group is run in partnership with ER for Youth
YAC: Youth Advisory Committee
630-8pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month
This Committee gives youth the opportunity to have an impact in the programs and events at the Pride Centre. This is also the planning group for the Queer Youth Camp Out.
Craft Night
630-830pm every Wednesday
This event is open to all ages and changes according to demand. Crafts range in price from $2-$5 to cover the cost of materials. If interested in the current craft please call or email Jess
Youth Movie
6:30 – 8:30 pm every Thursday
Watch a movie with your peers! All movies must have a rating no higher than 14A. Open to all youth under age 25.
Dinner & A Movie
Potluck 6-7pm Movie 7-10pm
Giving youth the opportunity to mix and mingle, eat and be merry, and enjoy a good ol’ fashion… what are we 80?
Bring your friends, bring some food for a potluck, and enjoy dinner & a movie! Potluck starts at 6pm, Movies & Board Games at 7pm, Wrap up by 10pm, as some of us have to sleep.
Don’t know what to make? Give Jess a heads up, show up around 430pm and we’ll make stuff here!

YUY is a social and support group for LBGTQ youth between ages 14-25. Check out their new location at 10031-109 St. (Behind the construction, in the Baptist Church!)

Why not volunteer as a Youth Leader? These folks help make the YouthSpace a safe and welcoming space for new youth, help other youth find out about resources and activities happening in the community and help plan activities and events for the YouthSpace.
“What if I’m an adult?” you say. Never fear! Opportunities are near!
YouthSpace is always looking for adult volunteers, acting as mentors and hanging out in the drop-in space. Adult volunteers should be 20 years of age or older, completed high school and have some experience working with youth and/or queer community.
